Welcome YCC Crew Members and followers! This the Upper Susitna Soil and Water District's Youth Conservation Corps FIRST BLOG POST!
We decided to create a blog so that we can more easily inform others and share our projects with the community.
A little bit about the USSWCD summer YCC program:
The Upper Susitna Soil and Water District employs 7-14 local youth from the ages 14-17 from the Trapper Creek, Sunshine, and Talkeetna areas. Projects give youth the opportunities to gain workforce experience, develop leadership skills, and foster environmental stewardship. All projects are community based thus everyone in the community will benefit.
A list of projects for the 2014 season:
Talkeetna Village Park flower beds
Forest inventory data collection
Talkeetna Lakes Park trail maintanence

Denali National Park and Preserve trail building
YCC Projects are entirely dependent on funding. We are very grateful to the many organizations that support our crew!
